Development of FEM Calculation Methods to Analyse Subcooled Boiling Heat Transfer in Minichannels Based on Experimental Results

Even though two-phase heat transfer of refrigerants in minichannel sinks has been studied extensively, there is still a demand for improvements overall thermal performance miniature exchangers. Experimental investigation and sophisticated calculations with respect to devices are needed. In this work, time-dependent experimental study subcooled boiling was carried out FC-72 flow sink, comprising five asymmetrically heated minichannels. The heater surface temperature continuously monitored by an infrared camera. characteristics were investigated the effect mass rate on coefficient studied. order solve problem related boiling, two numerical methods, based FEM applied, Trefftz functions (FEMT) using ADINA program. results achieved these calculation methods explored emphasis impact (range from 5 55 kg/h) resulting coefficient. It found that, increasing flow, increased. Good agreement between coefficients, determined according simple 1D method.
